What is motivation?

Motivation is an impulse in our brain that makes us start acting or doing things or behaving in particular way.

Motivation to study or work however can be sometimes very hard to find. It is one of the things we can struggle with often. I know it very well 🙂

As much as I love blogging and I need to be creative almost every day due to my job as enterpreneru, there are plenty of times when actually doing the work is the last thing i feel like doing. That’s because motivation comes and goes, so you have to learn how to commit to achieving your goals whether or not you’re feeling motivated that day.

Lack of motivation is very usual thing which stops us from doing things that will lead us to achieve our goals, to get our things done that we need to do or just to be more creative. It can be cause by any reason, by mostly it’s the depression, bad mood, bad weather or stereotype.

Dream Big

Today I will share with you few of my best tips that helps me find motivation & inspiration to start doing things or to be more creative.

Inspirational stories of 40 creative business enterpreneurs & personal look at their lives from editor-in-chief of Kinfolk!

1.Motivational Book & Video

Read some motivational book or watch a video from motivational speaker. These speakers or motivational writers know how to make you be more productive & how to raise up your mood to feel positive and inspired.

Here are some of my recommendations for great motivational books:

  • The KINFOLK Enterpreneurs – inspirational stories of 40 creative business enterpreneurs & personal look at their lives from editor-in-chief of Kinfolk!
  • Happy, Pretty, Messy Hardcover – inspirational guidebook on how to live a happier life
  • Wisdom of Unicorns – illustrated in pop art surrealist style, this handy guidance cute book is full of positivity, spiritual healing, meditation, mantras as well as the mythos behind these magical creatures

2. Make a list & Plan ahead

Write down a list of tasks you need to do. The more specific you’ll be the easier it will be for you to get it done. So instead of “workout today”, write down “20 push ups” or “10 minutes run”. It will be easier for you to do it one by one, and the more often you’ll be crossing out the things from your list, the more productive you’ll feel.

As a planning ahead I am trying to plan 4 ways – yearly, monthly, weekly and daily.

3. Create a Vision Board

Visualization generally helps in achieving your goals, because you can see exactly what is it what you want. As in my case usually happens, that I don’t really know what I want. This will be very easy example, but like If I want to go somewhere but I don’t know where. I know it’s abroad but I don’t even know on which continent or if it’s in the south or in the north 🙂 But if I choose one country or one exact place like Venice in Italy for example on the board, I will know exaclty where I want to go and it will be easier for me to start working on it to go there.

You can pin on your board places, or people, motivational quotes, your goals you have already achieved, colors that makes you happy, short stories from successfull people, etc.

4. Meditate on the sun

You can of course mediate anywhere you want & it will be great anyway. But If you take your  time for at least 10 minutes to mediate outside, while sun tanning for example ( that’s the way I do it 🙂 ) , you will accomplish or mix together 2 benefits into 1. Meditation helps you to calm down, to get away your bad thoughts, the ones that stops the good and creative ones to flow there instead. And sun helps the good mood and the positive energy to flow there as well. It is proven that at least 30 minutes of sunlight give you a whole bunch of positive energy and happiness. So mix them together for a while, you will feel better, happier & more positive. You will get rid of the useless thoughts you keep in your mind and immediatly can feel motivated.

5. Escape from Stereotype

Sometimes nothing of this would work, especially If you are depressed and motivation for anything is missing for a while.

I would definitely recommend to change your everyday life for a while. And I don’t mean to leave your husband or boyfriend, job or friends and go away 🙂 Just go for a vacation for at least 2 weeks or a month. Even a weekend gateway helps. Just change a little the things you see around you everyday. Visit one city you have never been before. Go for a hiking trip, meet new people and inspire yourself from the new surroundings.

The more new thing you’ll see the more inspiration you’ll find.
